WHAT'S NEW?

  • FL Studio
    • Improved Unlock - The unlock process is now more automated, if you have previously logged into your account. Trial users can now create an account to gain access to online features as part of the unlock process.
    • FL Studio macOS Menu - Items from the Main Menu are added to the macOS Application Menu. Returns after a brief holiday to Ibiza.
    • Tap Tempo - Deselect the 'Apply tempo' option so tapping doesn't change the Project's Tempo. Useful for investigating the tempo of audio you're listening to.
    • Tempo detection - When Tempos are detected there is an option to ignore decimals.
    • Metronome - New 'Pulse' sound, suited to audio recording.
    • Time Panel - Added SMPTE options, (Right-Click) to set.
    • Hint bar - Shows the Project file name instead of the Authors Name in the Hint Bar if no Title is set for increased privacy.
    • Icons - Clap, Snap, Zero icons were added to locations where Icons can be selected as part of Rename dialogs.
    • Command line - Ignore the Project's Backup folder when command line rendering, unless the /B option is used.
    • macOS Fullscreen Shortcut - Changed (Ctrl+Cmd+F).
    • Welcome Window - Opt-in or opt-out of anonymous data collection. You can see what we are interested to know and why here. NOTE: We are not collecting your creative works. We would like to know what plugins and features you are using to make them.
    • ASIO4ALL - Removed ASIO4ALL from the installer and must be installed separately, if required.
  • FL Cloud
    • Sounds - Added support for Hot-swapping 'Placeholder' samples by selecting 'Hot Swap' mode and clicking samples in the list. This will send them to the selected Sampler Channel or Audio Clip. There's also support for Drag-and-drop workflow with DirectWave, Edison, FPC, Granulizer, NewTime, Sampler Channels, Scratcher, Slicer, Wave Traveller, Convolver, Slicer, Slicex & Wave Traveller.
  • Playlist & Piano roll:
    • Ghost Notes - The Piano roll can now show Ghost Notes from other Patterns, if the Pattern clips overlap in the Playlist. Supporting is a Ghost Note 'Channels' selector on the upper-right side of the Piano roll window to decide what Channels show. Additionally, use the Playlist Track headers (Right-Click) > 'Show patterns as PR ghosts' decide which Playlist Tracks will display. NOTE: Out-of-Pattern Ghost Notes are outlined notes, in-Pattern are solid notes.
    • Snap MIDI to Scale - (Right-Click) option on the Piano roll > Snap to key menu to snap incoming MIDI to the same settings as the Piano roll.
    • Find stacked Clips & Notes - Option to 'Select stacked clips' (in the Playlist) and 'Select stacked notes' (in the Piano roll). Stacked means 100% overlap, and is in addition to 'Overlapping' Notes and Clips.
    • Picker Panel Pattern colors - The (Right-Click) Pattern option > 'Color' selected Patterns changes colors without the name-change dialog pop-up. It will also open the full color selection window when using 'Change color' for a selection of Audio or Automation clips.
    • Automated Track Names - FL Studio will use the Playlist Track's name for an Audio Track if the destination Mixer Track doesn't have a name.
    • Extract stems - Sets the Name and Icon of created Playlist Stem Tracks to match the stem type. Additionally, the 'Safe mode' option for some CPUs can avoid crashes and erroneous audio on systems experiencing issues.
    • Chord progression tool - Changing the inversion number ignores the Root in all cases.
  • Mixer:
    • Monitoring - Added a low latency track mode (for live playing or recording) 'Delay audio output'. Use to disable PDC when monitoring live inputs but is still corrects latency when rendering and recording audio.
    • Routing - New (Right-Click) option > Select > 'Channels and playlist tracks routed to this track' to help with Instrument and Audio Track workflow.
  • Channel Rack
    • Browse channel states - Channel menu option to open the Channel Presets menu item in the Browser.
  • Browser
    • Sounds Tab - Pre-load the Sounds Tab's when FL Studio starts for quicker access.
    • Project samples - Samples used in the project show in the Current Project section of the Browser.
    • Channel Presets - Folder for Sampler Channel envelopes.
    • Plugin Database - Reorganized the Plugin Database with more intuitive categories (Use 'Clear settings' in the installer to use it for an existing over-installation).
  • Plugins
    • Transporter (All Plugins Edition) - New realtime & relooping FX plugin.
    • Vectorial interfaces - DrumPad, Effector, PoiZone and Sawer now have vectorial user interfaces.
    • Plugin scaling - Use the Plugin Window Menu > 'Scaling' to resize the following plugins: Balance, BeepMap, Big clock, Center, Convolver, dB meter, Delay, DX10, Edison, Envelope controller, EQUO, Fast LP, FLEX, Formula Controller, FPC, Frequency Splitter, Fruit Kick, Fruity Dance, Gross Beat, Harmor, Keyboard Controller, Limiter, Love Philter, Low Lifter, Maximus, MIDI Out, Multiband Delay, Mute 2, Newtime, Newtone, Notebook, Notebook 2, Parametric EQ 2, Phase Inverter, Reeverb, WaveShaper, ReWired, Slicer, Slicex, Spectroman, Spreader, Sytrus, Tuner, Vocodex, Wave Traveller, X-Y-Z Controller, X-Y Controller. Particularly useful when working on multiple monitors at different resolutions and because BIGGER is better!
    • LuxeVerb - Added a Limiter (L) switch to disable the Limiter / Saturation on the Wet Output. Selected is on.
    • Voltage Controller - Added independent control for each Output using Note Colors.
    • Parametric EQ 2 - Added subscript indicators on the HQ button for +, Legacy (L) and Enhanced (E) modes to better indicate which mode is active.
    • Edison Scripting - Audio preview is now possible while Scripting.
    • Scratcher - Now includes DVS support.
    • Plugin Window - Menu item 'Browse channel states' opens the Browser > Channel presets folder allows quick-save location access.
    • Plugin Presets - Default to 'Tree view'.
    • DirectWave presets & Soundfonts - Can be sent to the Playlist as Instrument Tracks.
    • Control Surface - While in Edit mode, (Right-Click) controls and open Properties > 'Hint' to type a hint when the control is moused over.
    • ZGE Visualizer - Supports 'Spout' video feeds.
    • Video Player - Includes expanded SMPTE options, matching the Time Panel.
    • FLEX - Supports packs included in an FL Cloud Pro subscription. Note: All packs remain available for perpetual purchase.

2024.2.1 Maintenance Update (2024/12/10)

Changes

  • Playlist & Piano roll - Added a Playlist option to enable or disable the Piano roll time relative to where a Pattern Clip was (Double-Clicked). See 'Playlist menu > Edit patterns in > Adjust start time'.
  • Playlist & Piano roll - Enable Ghost notes for multiple selected playlist tracks at once. Select multiple tracks and (Right-Click) any track to switch Ghost notes On or Off.
  • Piano roll - Pattern Clips are now sorted in the Ghost menu by Track number and time.
  • Transporter - Now has a white theme. Sunglasses on!
  • Playlist - The brightness of the gain label on muted audio clips is now lower. Sunglasses off.
  • Plugin manager - Scanning is faster when many Plugins have been previously scanned and 'Rescan previously verified plugins' is deselected.
  • Diagnostic - Windows: Added more information about ASIO channels. macOS: Added a 'Memory diagnostics' option.

2024.2.2 Maintenance Update 2 (2025/02/05)

Changes

  • FLEX - Simplified the Browser Tabs to Library and Shop. Content previously on Get is moved to Library.
  • Transporter - The plugin now sounds the same at different sample rates.
  • FL Studio - Ask to restart the program after changing the 'Thick lines' option.
  • FL Studio (Windows) - The Visualizer now uses the dedicated GPU in preference to the integrated GPU if one is found - This should improve performance.
  • Playlist - Load Soundfont files dropped on a Soundfont Player instrument track into the plugin.
  • Channel Rack - Scroll the Channel Rack to see the selected Channel when double-clicking a Pattern.
  • Browser - Use the arrow keys in the Browser after clicking on a Browser tab.
  • MIDI Controllers - Show more informative error messages when a MIDI device can't be opened.
  • Content - Don't download content updates meant for older versions of FL Studio.
  • Diagnostic Tool - Can now log in again and shows more information about FL Studio ASIO.
  • FL Cloud - Plugins updated to v1.9.3.
  • Trial Users - The Trial Edition selector is shown when the Unlock panel in the Welcome window is closed.

  • FL Cloud
    • FL Cloud (Plugins) - FL Cloud Plugins are available free to all FL Studio customers. Subscribers get even more though an ever expanding range of 3rd party and Image-Line Group VST plugins. NOTE: FL Cloud Plugins are separate from those that come with the various FL Studio Editions.
    • Mastering - Subscribers can now continue to refine the automated master with a set of manual controls.
  • FL Studio
    • FL Studio Startup - Show an optional 'Welcome window' with quick-start options such as loading projects, creating a song or recording audio into the Playlist.
    • CLAP Plugin Support - Introducing CLever Audio Plug-in (CLAP) plugin support.
    • CPU Enhancement - FL Studio now use Blend2D to for the user interface (faster graphics with lower CPU).
    • File support - AIFF import now supported.
    • macOS Toolbar - Added items from the Main Menu to the macOS Application Menu.
    • Tools Menu Macros - Menu option Switch selected audio clips allows users to set all selected Clips to any stretch algorithm.
    • Plugin Picker - Improved search shows items with any of the letters typed.
    • Plugin Wrapper - Implemented poly aftertouch for VST3 plugins.
    • User manual - Added an option to show the online Help / Manual in the Communications Panel. See General Settings to set.
    • Scripting - The Script Editor option is now on the 'External tools' panel in File settings
    • Purge FL Cloud cache - General settings option to purge the FL Cloud Sounds cache if things are not loading correctly.
    • Keyboard Shortcuts - General Settings option to 'Manage keyboard shortcuts' for selected functions including Browser & Pickers and MIDI import (it's a start! More in future.)
    • Trial Startup - Choose the FL Studio Edition to test in Trial Mode. Time unlimited.
    • Tool buttons - Show if they're pressed when hovered.
    • Info panel - Option to show a 'License Plate' number for privacy when using FL Studio in public, such as online videos. See General Settings > Advanced > Show license plate in hint panel.
    • Menu Bar - Added options to view News, Downloads and Notifications.
    • Audio Buffer (macOS) - The default buffer on macOS (Apple Silicon) is now 128 to encourage the use of 'Performance' cores over 'Efficiency' cores.
    • Plugin Management (macOS) - Search for VST3 plugins in the user's Library folder (and not only in the system Library folder).
    • File Support - WAVPack and M4A files can now be dropped on Mixer & Playlist tracks.
  • Instruments & Effects
    • Kepler Exo (Instrument) - New vintage synth plugin that imagines the world where the JUNO-6™ and Jupiter-8™ Synthesizers would have been, if they were conceived in the age of the plugin instrument. Included with All Plugins Edition.
    • Low Lifter (Effect) - Low Lifter dynamically adds harmonics to bass frequencies, enhancing their presence and creating the perception of stronger bass, even on devices incapable of reproducing deep sub frequencies effectively. Included with Signature Bundle and higher.
    • Spreader (Effect) - Non-destructive stereo enhancer plugin (mono compatible). Included with Producer Edition and higher.
    • Edison - Improved AI Declipper. There are now models optimized for Vocals and General (music) audio and a new Vocal Denoiser Tool.
    • MIDI Out - Added "Note off" value selector for "Note" controls.
    • Sampler Channel - You can now (Right-Click) the waveform preview and select 'Locate file' to open the OS File Browser with the sample selected.
  • Piano roll
    • Chord Progression Tool - AI powered tool to boost your creative process with musical Chord Progressions. Preset and algorithmic options.
    • Piano roll - Note repeat for the Piano roll (Event Editor area) and Stepsequencer (Graph Editors).
    • Piano roll scripting - Added score.getDefaultNoteProperties method.
  • Playlist
    • Make Unique Clips - Hold (Shift+V+Left-Click and Drag) and release - Copies the affected Pattern Clip and Makes a unique instance or Select Clip/s and use (Ctrl+Shift+V) to makes the selected Clip/s unique.
    • Audio Clips - Place new Audio Clips in view when using 'Send to playlist as an audio clip' menu options.
    • Automation Clip Editor - Added a 'Select in playlist' button to the Automation Clip Editor to improve Clip discovery.
    • Instrument vs Audio Track - Choose action when a sample is dropped on Instrument Tracks in the Playlist.
    • Nudge Edits - 'Edit menu > Nudge clips with mouse wheel' allows you to turn the Shift+Mouse-Wheel nudge behavior on and off.
  • Browser
    • Browser - Sample preview options match FL Sounds (Tempo and Key sync) when dropped into project. Options display on the sample Preview Panel on mouse over the sample preview. The sample must have this meta-data to work with these controls.
    • Browser - Select a Browser Tab and show the options when Right-Clicked.
  • Channel Rack & Stepsequencer
    • Channel Rack - Deleting multiple Audio or Instrument Channels asks to delete associated data for every Channel.
    • Swing - Per Channel option (and macros) to truncate swing Notes. (Right-Click) the Swing knob on the Miscellaneous Channel Settings.
  • MIDI scripting
    • Browser - Browser navigation functions now work with the Sounds Tab.
    • Functions - Added a parameter to setRouteTo to perform afterRoutingChanged & functions to get and set mixer send levels.
  • Mixer
    • Effects Slots - Mix level Automation Clips now show the Mixer Track name.
    • Colors - Added 'Random color' to the mixer's effect slot menu.
